Review of Cedar Point Campground in Cedar Point, NC

Cedar Point Campground (In the Croatan National Forest.)  Located at GPS coordinates: 34.693258, -77.08239

Review completed on May 19th, 2014.

Hookups:  Power hookups. Drinking water is available but there are no actual hookups for your RV/Camper. The dump station is closed at the moment, but there are restrooms and a bath house in the campground. If you need to dump your tanks, however, you may do so at the White Oak Campground up the road for $10.

Number of sites available: 40.

Cleanliness of the facility: 1 2 3 4 5

Friendliness of the staff: 1 2 3 4 5  (This rating is for the hosts and co-hosts, since we never came in contact with any actual "employees.")

Notes: We spent 14 days camping at Cedar Point Campground. The sites are spacious and include a picnic table & fire pit with grate for cooking. There are TONS of adorable little squirrels running around, so if you're not a fan of squirrels you may want to avoid this place. The hosts and co-hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The showers kinda suck- you can not control the temperature of the water and they are the type you have to hold down if you want the water to come out continuously. (Better for saving water, though, definitely.) The roads/loops are all one-way and the speed limit is 5 MPH, so it's very kid friendly in that aspect. So far it's the only place we've been where I was comfortable letting Aidan ride his bike in the "street." It gets pretty busy on the weekends, but it was still peaceful even when all of the sites were taken. The campground is a very short drive to stores. There are several different towns in driving distance. A short drive to Emerald Isle. We had Verizon 3G/4G coverage on our Jetpack for internet as well as Straightalk cell coverage. This is a very laid-back campground with friendly folks AND it's close to the beach- what more could you want? I definitely recommend it!
