Life is good....

We have an AMAZING life. We do still have several monthly bills, unfortunately; we didn't win the lottery (nor do we even play it, lol); we've never been the recipient of any "family money"; we've received no financial assistance from the government, family, friends, or anyone else; we recently sold 90% of our possessions; and we now "live" in a 22 foot long travel trailer (Really we live in the great outdoors, all we do inside the camper is sleep unless the weather is yucky.) Yet it feels like we're on vacation every single day. We are now able to spend every single day (and night) together, as a family. We meet wonderful people who we never would have had the pleasure of meeting before. Our "work" involves helping other people work from home. On a daily basis, we are able to do, see, and experience things that most people wait all year to try and squeeze into 1 week of vacation....

In the past 2 months we've been to 6 beaches:
  1. Hunting Island
  2. Myrtle Beach
  3. Emerald Isle
  4. Atlantic Beach
  5. Indian Beach
  6. Virginia Beach
And if wasn't for the fact that I can't stand extreme heat, that list would be getting much longer very soon.(Now that summer is here, it's time to head to more moderate temps!)

You may be wondering exactly HOW we're able to afford this lifestyle. The answer is simple- we made the DECISION to make it work, no matter what it takes. We made the DECISION to start living, not just existing. We made the DECISION to do what makes us happy and live like we're dying (because really, we are...we ALL are!) When you want something this badly and you commit 100% to making it work, it's going to way or another....

When people find out about our chosen lifestyle, they have 1 of 2 reactions.
  1. Think we're nuts.
  2. Envy us. Wish they could do what we're doing. (My response to that is- YOU CAN!)
I've always thought that I didn't care what people thought of me.  But if this lifestyle change has shown me one thing, it's the fact that deep down- I kinda DID care. Since hitting the road I've worn shorts, dresses, and capris almost every day- Casper white legs and all (I VERY rarely did before.) I've gotten all of my hair chopped off (which I don't think I would have had the guts to do back "home".) I've spoken to strangers. And I've honestly 100% cared less what anyone has thought of it or of me. Having said that, I truly could not be happier.   =)   Do what makes you happy, screw what anyone else thinks...  (Note: I would like to add that by "do what makes YOU happy", that of course really means "do what makes YOU and YOUR FAMILY happy" if you have a spouse and/or children.... Look out for the happiness of yourself and your own family, who cares what anyone else thinks about your choices. If everyone's happy and well taken care of, I say GO FOR IT!!!)
