The Importance of Self-Care in Motherhood.

Hey guys! My name is Missy VanMeter and I empower overwhelmed and stressed women to relax & re-charge using a monthly self-care kit with a portion of the proceeds assisting the less-fortunate and saving shelter pets.

Today I'd like to talk to you a little bit about the importance of self care, in motherhood.

The demands of being a Mother are endless. And to be frank, as mom's we typically suck at self-care. We spend all of our time caring for our families and putting their needs above our own. Which, of course, means we're putting ourselves on the back-burner. But I am here to tell you that we absolutely MUST care for ourselves in the midst of caring for our families.

While facing all of the demands of motherhood, we get stressed. We get worn out.
We lose energy and don't feel like playing with our kids. We may even snap at them for no legitimate reason. Honestly, how many of you moms are guilty of doing that?

But we get it in our heads that having "me-time" is selfish and wrong. Self-care is not selfish, its actually a very important aspect of Motherhood. If you don't take care of yourself, you won't be able to adequately care for your family.

You may be surviving it right now.. but trust me, that won't last forever. There's only so much we can take until we eventually crash. It's like the airplane oxygyn mask theory- You need to put your OWN mask on before you help your child put his or her mask on. Because if you're fumbling around with your child's mask and YOU quit breathing, then what happens? You're BOTH gonna quit breathing, because you can't help your child if you're not breathing.

Self care, ultimately, is the decision to make yourself a priority.  It will help you re-charge and re-energize so you can be more present and enjoy those precious moments with your children.

So if you won't do it for yourself, then do it for THEM.

Thanks so much for taking the time to watch my video and I hope to talk to you soon! <3
